Yuketen’s Shepherd Bag is made inspired by a traditional shepherd bag used by real shepherds back in the 18th century. Each piece of the bag is hand-cut and handcrafted in USA using the Yuketen’s original very soft vegetable-tanned leather on body with USA made vegetable-tanned leather trim that is going to show patina beautifully with age and an amount of time it is used. The bag features two front pockets and one pocket on each side as well as inside and outside compartments. Each of the pocket is attached with a leather tassel closure that is also made out of the veg-tan leather. All these pockets, compartments and the side flaps were playing an important role for shepherds back in the 18th century for them to carry around food, medicines, knives, tools and large umbrella, and to protect their clothes from rain. The buckle used at the front closure and on the adjustable shoulder strap, the bold swivel snap hook and the O ring used for connecting the body and the strap are all solid brass hardware that are also used by genuine saddlers. Yuketen’s shepherd bag is made with though of it starts mold to your body as it is used and to inherit the tradition of craftmanship.
