Yuketen Joseph are entirely handcut and benchmade in Mexico onto 1930’s American semi-modified lasts for the ideal union of comfort and style. The semi-modified lasts the shoes’ are built upon were originally designed to stop the wearer from over-pronating, helping them to correct their gait and develop a better, healthier walking motion. As such, the modified lasts provide exceptional arch support to the structure of the foot.
These shoes are crafted from soft and supple cow suede upper lined with soft-tanned cow leather for added comfort and durability. An equally fundamental component of this style is the sturdy foundation that is constructed of multiple layers of hand-shaved 100% veg-tan leather that ensures conformity to the shape of the wearer’s foot for long-term comfort. Forepart of the insoles are hand-sanded as it helps to absorb the moisture from the feet and keeps them dry.
Yuketen’s meticulous Goodyear stitches are made by a sturdy 1910 German-made welt stitcher. Veg-tan leather insoles ensure conformity to the shape of the wearer’s foot for long-term comfort. Made from 100% natural rubber crepe sole provides superior shock absorption and an incredibly soft and slip-resistant tread.
These remarkable features mark a new direction for Yuketen’s design aesthetic verging toward formal elegance while simultaneously maintaining all core principles and construction techniques for highest-quality handmade products.
WARNING: It is important to avoid contact with any petroleum based products as this may cause the natural crepe outsole to dissolve.
