The Concho Moc II brings together the proportions of a Venetian with overtly Yuketen detailing. The pinked collar, backstay and plug and nickel concho centerpiece make for a stylized slip-on bolstered by the fine handiwork of the hand-sewn toe, overcast and heel.
Each moccasin is rendered from hand-selected cuts of Horween full-grain flesh-out leather which is hand-punched and stitched with awl, needle, and thread on Yuketen's proprietary last by hand-sewers working in our Maine factory. The base of the vamp has been cinched to create an integumentary fit, while the dexterous skill by which our hand-sewers "gather" leather ensures the secure stitching of every shoe. The throat of this unlined shoe is wrapped with a single collar piece, avoiding the blistering commonly associated with collar-seam stitching. The leather used for the Concho Moc II is NOT suede, because unlike split suede, it retains the grain side of the leather, providing a thickness, strength, and longevity not found with the latter material.
Each American-made concho is impressed with one of five Native American designs. Sawtooth pinking along the upper portion of the tip and on the heel seam cover completes the embellishment. Full leather insoles, leather tucks, and steel shank reinforcement increases fitting in the arch and heel as well as lessens foot fatigue by forming a stable bridge between the heel and ball of the owner's foot. In addition, the 100% vegetable tanned tucks and insoles will naturally accommodate the distinct shape of the wearer over time. Yuketen’s 100% natural rubber Boat Sole anchors the shoe and is replaceable for years of continuous wear.
